The purpose of this document is to describe the RNC 3810. The RNC 3810 is the first product in the RNC 3800 family, which is a part of the Ericsson WCDMA Radio Access Network (RAN) offering. This product family is developed upon worldwide experience obtained from building and deploying Ericsson mobile telephone systems.
The document describes the RNC 3810 product, with focus on hardware release R5, RAN release P6. The document does not describe the different software features (RAN functionality) available; they are described in separate feature descriptions. Each hardware release of the RNC 3810 product provides increased capability as a result of continuous improvements in hardware and software.
